We were on a South Island road trip heading to Queenstown and were craving some Malay food. Thanks to Google reviews, we came across this cafe. We met the friendly owner and tried their nasi lemak, mee siam, and beef rendang pie, together with pancakes for the kids. AMAZING FOOD! The nasi lemak was paired with sambal prawns, and the pancakes were amazing too! The owner even helped carry our baby so we could eat in peace, and we truly enjoyed our lunch. The owner also gave us a pack of sambal to go! If you ever have the chance to visit Dunedin, you have to stop by this wonderful cafe! We also bought their honey, and it was some of the best honey we have ever had. Cheers from Singapore!

You come back to places like this! Went there 3 or 4 times over the week and they instantly made me feel like part of the furniture! All good is homemade and you can always taste it when it is! Coffee fantastic, food yum but I think it's too cheap considering the quality and the service was top draw! Can't wait to come and visit my bestie again so I can visit this cool crew! Maybe I will be brave and try the Asian breakfast.

We got here laying in the day, but the service was super friendly, the food was delicious and the cafe is charming!

This cafe is nearby the scenic Brighton Beach Front in Dunedin. It is a small and cosy cottage type of cafe that has indoor and outdoor seatings. You be surprised that 'nasi lemak' is included in their menu. Yes, the Malaysian version. The lemak rice was done nicely. Even the sambal was quite authentic, with fried anchovies and boneless chicken rendang....it was delicious. The seafood chowder was good too, with generous helpings of seafood. It was thick and flavourful, goes well with toasted bread. The latte coffee served here was one of the better ones that I had in Dunedin.

Food is delicious and portion size is generous. The Brunch menu has varied options of sweet and savoury meals for a hearty Brunch. Nasi Lemak and Beef Rendang as a brunch option is a must try. But bear in mind the Nasi Lemak has spicy sambal on the side. There are also generously sized sandwiches and pies available at the counter ready to be heated should One not want something from the Brunch menu. The the Beef Rendang Pie and the Chicken Panini is already a good serving size for one. There are Vegetarian, Dairy-Free and Gluten free options in the Brunch Menu and at the counter (for baking deliciousness:pies, sandwiches/paninis etctc). Beef and Chicken are also Halal The cafe has on street parking that’s on a first come first serve basis. Spacious enough to have a group of 6 people for Brunch. Could extend to up to 8 or more but might have to combine tables. There is wheel chair accessibility from the side entrance/back entrance. It’s well worth a try for a cafe that’s a near good ocean views. I’ve been back for Brunch for several times and will continue on for the near future.
