We were in Dunedin for a night and found this restraunts on first table. Reviews looked good so we got a 5pm booking.
Service was very good and an explanation of each dish was welcomed. My whiskey sour was delicious and come out quickly. Starters were good and presented well with garnishes but flavour was just okay. The arepas were fairly bland. Patatas Bravas were good with a nice hit of spice.
The lamb was really good as expected in NZ but after travelling around for the last few weeks and eating out the portion size wasn't huge for the high price of $48 (luckily with first table we had the discount)

Fantastic Lunch at Wayfarer. Ordered the 3 course meal and all the food was excellent. Presentation added to the experience. Lovely plated food and explanation of what we were eating by the owner/server. He also gave excellent recommendations for wine and choice of food. Tasty cocktails that were created by owner of restaurant were also very good. Highly recommend dining here!!

Good food, good service, disappointed by the cocktails and the speedy music didn’t really match the peacefulness, chill vibe of the place. We’ll still keep a good memory of our dinner 👍🏼

The restaurant is a hidden nook of a treasure find in Dunedin, where it has a very inviting but cozy feel to it. It has a retro feel to it that makes one want to stay longer to catch up with long conversations in a group gathering. Music has a festive and jolly feel to the ambiance adding more to its welcoming atmosphere
There is ample seating for small or large groups for dining in. Staff are highly accomodating, attentive and very respectful in such that they’d recommend which dishes (and desserts) could have a non-alchohol version in it or of can go DF. They’ve explained in detail each parts of the meal when it’s delivered to the table. Highly recommend the Cocktails (and Mocktails) are delicious and complement the dishes. Portion sizes of the meals are large and good for sharing but could be for just 1 person if really hungry. The menu has a variety of options if needed to be GF/DF or Vegan. Meals are delicious and not too heavy on the palate.
We each had chosen a main dish that could be for sharing but opted to not to as it’s yummy. The mains are cooked to perfection and very well presented.
Desserts are decadent and a great palate cleanser after a hearty meal. All the best in choosing a dessert as all are highly recommended.
Overall, an excellent place for dining out with lovely staff, delicious food and great location of a place. Will come back again in the future.

We have visited this fabulous restaurant yesterday. It is hard to explain this excellent service that we experienced. The meals is being explained by kind-hearted and a very friendly couple who owns the restaurant. I can highly recommend the cocktails which is being prepared by one of the year long experienced owners. I can easily describe this south-American cuisine as the best ones we have had and i hope the pictures speak for themselves. After the outstanding three course menu we left this place with a warm feeling which is very rare. I would describe this as one of the hidden gems of Dunedin and will come back if we are ever back in Dunedin. Thank you so much for this great evening
